THE LARGEST FESTIVAL IN THE STATE: Three Things to Know About Wichita’s Riverfest
Riverfest is the largest and longest continuously running festival in the state and one of the largest outdoor festivals in the nation. If you’re new to Wichita or need a recap, here are three things to know about one of Wichita’s most #RelentlesslyOriginal events.
1. Riverfest supports an artist-in-residence every year. The visiting artist engages with Wichitans throughout the festival with their own art installations and activities.
2. There is a lot of hype around the concert lineup. Boasting numerous stages, Riverfest features everything from national headliners to local hit bands. All genres are celebrated including classical, R&B, gospel, country and more. See the full list of concerts here.
3. There are more than 100 events, including dodgeball, hot air balloon rides, river tours, stock tank races and more. Plus, the food court is filled with the aroma of roasted corn, oversized corn dogs and chicken on a stick. Grab a snack or two with a cup of hand-squeezed lemonade and you’re ready to party at Riverfest.
