The Kansas African American Museum provides a culminating experience of people, pride and place! Serving as a cultural hub, it tells the story of the region’s rich and vibrant African American experiences including its impact here and across the country.
Your first challenge is to make your way to The Kansas African American Museum located at 601 N. Water in downtown Wichita, housed in historic Calvary Baptist Church. When you get there, read the plaques outside and find out who built it. Post a photo of the building and include your answer in your Twitter or Instagram post. Thanks to a donor, you can learn more about the African American history and heritage of our community free of charge - just let museum staff know you’re an intern. Don’t forget to check the museum's hours and read through the rules below!
